Lake Kolavai – a photo documentary
Kolavai lake | Chengalpet | Kancheepuram district
Unknown to many like me is the fact that this is the second largest lake in the Kancheepuram District. One can see the vastness of this lake from Mahindra City where lot of industries and posh houses came up recently which is eating up the water body is a different story.
If you travel South of Chennai in train you can see this beautiful lake. I happened to visit this lake 2 to 3 times already. All the time I could enjoy early morning hues and heavenly atmosphere, watching the small catamarans move past in silence. Though this water body is being polluted due to fast urbanization and the nearby industries, this lake gives lot of life to the regular people who use this. A documentary:
